"...donated by Ruth Weed who lived in the farm house north of the marsh when she a young girl. While traveling in her late years, she visited wildlife sanctuaries which reminded her of this beautiful marsh - her gift to you. WHY BJORKBODA? This area reminded Ruth's Swedish ancestors who farmed here, of a part of Sweden they knew. Ruth's translation of Bjorkboda means Sweden in Iowa. The name honors those who chose this place to live."
