For almost seven decades, the Stanhope community has been hosting one of the region's great summer traditions, known by many as “THE BEST DAY OF THE YEAR!” 

On Saturday, July 18th, we invite you to join us on campus for the 69th Stanhope Watermelon Day!

Watermelon Day is one part small town festival, one part family reunion, “Stanhope’s National Holiday,” and the Lions’ largest fundraiser, drawing thousands from across Iowa. It starts with the parade at 10:30 AM sharp, then all the action is in the park, featuring food, games, rides, family entertainment, and, of course, free watermelon all afternoon!
