The 67th Stanhope Lions Watermelon Day - Saturday, July 19th

For almost seven decades, the Stanhope Lions have been putting on one of the great summer traditions in the region, known by many as “the best day of the year!” 

On Saturday, July 19th, we invite you join us! Never been? Here's the short version.

Watermelon Day is one-part small town festival, one part family reunion, “Stanhope’s National Holiday” and the Lions’ largest fundraiser drawing thousands from across Iowa. It starts with the parade at 10:30 AM sharp, then all action is in the park with food, games, rides, family entertainment and of course, free watermelon all afternoon!
